Slice each of the three cakes of mochi in half lengthwise. Then slice each half into thirds forming bite-size cubes.
Heat a waffle iron. When hot, place one or two mochi cubes into each waffle section, leaving ample space between the cubes as they will spread and puff as they cook. Close the top and cook until the mochi melts, spreads in the waffle iron, and each cube forms a crispy cracker, about 4 to 5 minutes. Remove and continue to make the remaining crackers.
Spread a dab of grape butter on each cracker.
