Heat the oil in a medium saucepan and sauté the onions and garlic for 2 to 3 minutes. Add all remaining ingredients except the green beans. Cover, bring to a boil, reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 10 minutes. Add the green beans, cover, and cook another 5 minutes until the green beans are tender. Remove from heat and serve.
