Ingredients
- 1/2 pound organic seitan (wheat meat), see Eden's recipe, or store bought
- 1/2 cup onion, minced
- 1/2 cup green bell pepper, chopped
- 1/2 cup Eden Sliced Shiitake Mushrooms, soaked 5 minutes in 1 cup hot water
- 1 Tbsp Eden Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 25 ounces Eden Spaghetti Sauce No Salt, 1 jar
or Eden Spaghetti Sauce - Salted - 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 Tbsp Eden Barley Malt Syrup, or organic maple syrup
- 5 whole wheat buns
Directions
Cube the seitan and pulse in a food processor or blender until the consistency of ground beef. Heat the oil in a medium skillet and sauté the onions and garlic for 2 to 3 minutes. Chop the shiitake and add to the skillet with the green peppers. Sauté another 2 to 3 minutes. Add the spaghetti sauce and barley malt or maple syrup. Cover, reduce the flame and simmer for 10 to 55 minutes. Fill the buns with the hot sauce mixture and serve.
