A. A. Milne’s Winnie-the-Pooh said, “A Proper Tea is much nicer than a Very Nearly Tea, which is one you forget about afterwards.”
EDEN Tea shares the memorable pleasure and benefits of “Proper Tea” as described by-Winnie-the-Pooh.
50 Years Organic
The organically managed Nagata Family Tea Co-op is far from the main road on hillsides overlooking the Uji River. These plantations abandoned chemical-dependent agriculture in 1974, using only organic practices for over 50 years. Long-term organic practices, healthy soil and plants, and skillful artistry in the tea’s handling and preparation produce the most wonderful, deeply satisfying, pure & purifying EDEN Green Tea.
Seven EDEN Green Tea varieties and Kukicha Twig Tea are from Uji, Japan’s oldest tea growing area just south of Kyoto. Centered there are 1,200 years of know-how that produces Japan’s finest green tea. Uji River morning mist moistens the tea leaves. The mineral-rich volcanic and hillside shaded soil are ideal for the Camellia sinensis evergreen tea bush. Fifty years of chemical-free organic management accentuates joyously happy tea plants and tea leaf that is our honor to share.
Benefits of organic farming are well known. EDEN Tea embodies the sought after character and benefits of pure, expertly prepared tea. EDEN Tea supports life, environment responsibility, and is deeply beneficial. They present a genuine, sought-after tea experience. They do not support or carry toxic chemical residue of pesticide, fungicide, herbicide, chemical fertilizer, or other shortsighted practices of improper agriculture. Commercial tea bushes are sprayed with chemicals 15 to 20 times each year. The bushes die in about 20 years. Nagata Co-op tea bushes thrive beyond 40 years, some now for 100.
Thoughtful Care
EDEN tea bags are the best choice. Unbleached manila fiber, a crimp seal with no staples, a pure cotton string, no chemical whiteners, no plastic seals, and no untoward chemicals.
Today’s commercial tea bags contain epichlorohydrin, a plasticizer that allows them to be heat-sealed. Epichlorohydrin is toxic and a likely carcinogen. EDEN tea bags are made of safe, natural material.
Seven real-organic EDEN Sencha Green Tea and Green Tea blends, plus Chamomile and Kukicha Tea are available. Sencha is just green tea leaf. EDEN Sencha Mint, Sencha Rose, and Sencha Ginger are blended with organic Egyptian spearmint and peppermint, organic Bulgarian rose hips and Moroccan rose petals, or Tanzanian ginger root, respectively Hojicha is roasted green tea with a taste similar to black tea. EDEN Hojicha Chai is roasted green tea with an aromatic organic spice blend, while EDEN Genmaicha is green tea with organic roasted short grain brown rice. EDEN Chamomile Tea is Egyptian organic chamomile flowers. Each box contains 16 individual manila fiber tea bags. The Tea Sampler offers an economical variety. EDEN Sencha Green and Kukicha Twig tea also come as loose packed reclosable bags, 2.25 oz (63 gram) and 1.75 oz (50 gram), respectively.

An exceptional gift to others or yourself. Individual pieces are sold separately.
Antioxidant Catechins
All true tea stems from the plant Camellia sinensis. Tea remains green or becomes many varieties of black tea solely on how it is handled and cured. Immediately after tea leaves are picked, they begin to oxidize. For black tea, leaves are allowed to oxidize thoroughly, a process referred to as fermentation, which is a misnomer as they are not actually fermented. For Japanese green tea, such as organic EDEN Sencha and Matcha, oxidation is stopped immediately after harvest by steaming and rubbing tea leaves. This preserves its bright green chlorophyll and antioxidant nutrients such as flavonoids, tannins, and epigallocatechins (EGCG) that enhance taste. Green tea antioxidants, collectively referred to as catechins, account for 40% of green tea’s dry weight. Catechins are known to be responsible for the benefits of green tea.
Taking green tea with a bit of citrus enhances antioxidant bio-availability and absorption. Adding dairy milk to green tea diminishes antioxidant absorption.
The amino acid L-theanine in green tea is largely responsible for its unique taste. It enhances learning ability, induces relaxation, and provides a smooth, steady uplift.
Herb Teas
EDEN Mu 16 Tea contains sixteen Chinese traditional medicinal herbs in a balanced, bracing, and beneficial blend. It is very yang in the yin/yang continuum and not for children. It was formulated by George Ohsawa, the father of today’s Macrobiotics. Mu Tea mixed with an organic apple juice is excellent year-round. Mr. Ohsawa spent a good part of his life studying classic texts of traditional and herbal applications. EDEN Mu 16 Tea has a uniquely mystical taste that comes out after boiling.
EDEN Lotus Root Tea is the dried ground root of the Asian Lotus Flower, long treasured for its beneficial properties. Lotus root is harvested during winter when its life force is centered there. The root is chopped, sun-dried, and then ground into a fine powder. It too must be boiled to make tea.
Teatime Pleasing Benefits
Taking time for tea is always good, especially green tea with its many benefits. Whether alone or socially, teatime is a refreshing respite that provides well-being and mental clarity. It stimulates conversation when shared, yet complements the freedom and reflection of solitude and mental endeavor. Green tea relieves stress, soothes, and sets a tone of alert repose. It draws you to the present, away from the past and future. Pure EDEN Green Teas are authentic and 50 years real-organic.
