• 1 Tbsp Eden Extra Virgin Olive Oil
• 1 medium onion, diced
• 1/2 cup green bell pepper, diced
• 1/2 cup red bell pepper, diced
• 3 cups fresh organic tomatoes, diced
• 1 Tbsp Eden Barley Malt Syrup, or organic maple syrup
• 2 tsp Eden Red Wine Vinegar
• 1 Tbsp hot chili peppers, minced
• 1 tsp Eden Cumin Powder
• 1 Tbsp fresh cilantro, minced
or fresh parsley
• 1/8 tsp Eden Cayenne Pepper, optional
• 2 cloves garlic, pressed
• 1/8 tsp Eden Black Pepper, or to taste
• 1/2 tsp Eden Sea Salt, or to taste
• 1 cup Eden Crushed Tomatoes
• 1 small jalapeno, seeded and minced
Heat oil, sauté onion, garlic, green and red peppers until onions are translucent. Add tomatoes, salt, barley malt, and red wine vinegar. Simmer for 30 minutes. Add hot pepper, cumin, black pepper, jalapeno and parsley or cilantro. Simmer 5 to 10 minutes more. Turn off flame and add cayenne, if desired. Refrigerate to chill and blend flavors.
