Eating whole grain does the opposite of dumbing us down. They uplift, open, expand, sharpen, and focus intellect, while nourishing intuition. Over time, whole grain is a way to physical, mental, and spiritual freedom. Being denied whole grain is subjugation. Whole grain and pseudo-grains (seeds generally considered whole grain like buckwheat, quinoa, and amaranth) have been the core component of human sustenance for millennia. Today, in undeveloped countries, 60 to 80% of people’s diet consists of whole grains, in the poorest of these it is 80%+. In developed countries, grain consumption is approximately 30% of people’s diet, with a vast majority of it being highly processed, nutrient stripped refined grain, or empty calories.

During the 120 years of agriculture and food industrialization, a combination of huge scale, centralized food growing and production, coupled with the associated much longer shelf life for finished goods, people have been led to replace vital whole grain with the empty carbs of white bread, white rice, white flour, and ‘polished’ instant grains. Unforeseen long-term consequences of this have been catastrophic. Worldwide nutritional deficiencies have caused ongoing epidemics of health failures. Elaine Magee, RD, of WebMD Weight Loss Clinic says, “Frankly, we are only just realizing the nutritional fallout from almost eliminating whole grains from our diet over the past 100 years … switching to whole grains is one of the most important things you can do for your (physical and mental) health.”

After dozens of studies, the medical community and U.S. government now acknowledge the irrefutable role of whole grain in health. A movement back to whole grain is finally taking place. Organic whole grains like EDEN whole grain and whole grain cereals, are the finest and most delicious that can be found. In addition to their superior protein, fiber, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, whole grain helps the body burn 25% more calories per day. Whole grain subdues appetite and assists in weight control. Whole grain is a key to well-being, and essential to good health, intuition, and longevity. Today, essential importance and benefits of whole grains are being rediscovered and appreciated. Whole grain is a joyous revival.

Vital Integrity Cared For

The three main components of whole grain are: Endosperm (starch, minerals, and some protein), Bran (fiber, carbs, protein, minerals), and Germ (fats, protein, fiber, minerals). They make a perfect whole and together provide what is necessary to efficiently assimilate them. All three components contain essential nutrients. Refined grain, processed for endless shelf life, has most nutrients greatly reduced or completely removed. Organic EDEN grains are pure, natural whole grain. Eden works to maintain the vital integrity of every EDEN Whole Grain.

Commercial whole grain is first completely disassembled (refined). Then, using a government formula, partially reassembled to imitate whole grain and be called whole grain.

It is critically important to know what you are eating, and it is not made easy for us to do so, quite the contrary. USA food truth is very rare.
