Clinton, Michigan - Eden Organic Beans received high praise in the January-February 2009 Nutrition Action Healthletter, the third time Eden beans have been complimented by this respected Healthletter.
Twelve varieties of Eden Organic No Salt Added Beans were acclaimed for being naturally low in sodium without the refined salt added to most commercial canned beans. Nutrition Action Healthletter noted that Eden beans are firm, not too soft, and that all EDEN bean cans are bisphenol-A free.
Eden does not use calcium chloride, calcium disodium EDTA, or any processing chemicals. The beans are USA organic family farm grown in mineral-rich vital soil, their skins retain integrity, the beans' fine texture and color. They are soaked overnight at Eden's certified organic, , AIB 'Superior' rated canning plant. A touch of kombu seaweed enhances flavor without increasing sodium.
Since 1999 Eden has worked with Ball Corporation to obtain cans free of the endocrine disruptor bisphenol-A. These cans cost 14% more than the industry standard, but are essential in protecting the health of our bodies and the environment.
Eden beans were honored in 1999 and 2004 by Nutrition Action Healthletter, in 2004 by Child Magazine, and in 2004 and 2006 by Men's Health Magazine. Sue Becker, Eden Vice President of Marketing, said, "We are grateful that Eden Beans were recognized in the Healthletter as we strive to offer the purest, authentic organic food."
