Coriander Cordandrum sativum - aka Chinese parsley and cilantro, coriander is one of the oldest spices native to southern Europe and North Africa to Asia, and one of the first to arrive in the Americas. Coriander comes from the same plant as cilantro, but they are not interchangeable. Coriander is from the ground seeds and cilantro is from the leaves of the plant. Ground coriander seed is a warming and aromatic spice with lemon citrus overtones used in desserts, sweet pastries, salsa, and curry, in the curry spice blend, garam masala. It is especially suited to seasoning seafood, poultry, and lamb dishes. It can be added to soups, stews, bean dishes, and marinades. It is used in making curry powder blends along with cinnamon, cumin, cloves, chilies, turmeric, pepper, fenugreek, and other spices. Organically grown in India.
