Bay Leaf Powder Laurus nobilis -is from the dried, ground leaves of sweet bay laurel, an evergreen tree native to Asia Minor and Mediterranean countries. In mythology the bay laurel was a symbol of honor. This mildly sweet, herbaceous floral spice is used in soups, stews, sweet white sauces, pâte, and for pickling. It goes well with fish and seafood, and is one of the ingredients of 'bouquet garni', herbs used to season soups and seafood chowders such as bouillabaisse. Powdered bay leaf is sometimes added to bread dough, imparting a mild spicy flavor. Bay leaf powder is more concentrated than whole bay leaf, use it in moderation. Organically grown in Turkey. Protective amber glass jar. kosher pareve
