Buy Online | Nutrition Facts

Eden Hard Red Spring Wheat is grown in vital soil and ground at our certified organic, AIB rated Superior, Michigan mill. A versatile all purpose flour for most baking needs. Use it for breads, pancakes, crackers, pretzels and anything baked. Mix it with other flours for endless variety.

Hard Red Spring and Hard Red Winter Wheat Triticum aestivum L. are the same grain planted in different seasons. Spring Wheat is a fast growing crop. It's sown in Spring and harvested in late Summer or early Fall. The gluten in spring wheat makes the best bread.

Eden Hard Red Spring Wheat Flour is low fat, saturated fat and cholesterol free, sodium free and a good source of fiber. According to the FDA, "Diets rich in whole grain and other plant foods and low in total fat, saturated fat, and cholesterol may reduce the risk of heart disease and some cancers." Also, "Low fat diets rich in fiber-containing grain products, fruits, and vegetables may reduce the risk of some types of cancer, a disease associated with many factors." It is a good source of protein, thiamin B1, and magnesium. 100% whole grain.

Hard Red Spring Wheat is known as 'bread flour' and is useful in just about anything you bake. People also keep Hard Red Wheat on hand to mix with lower gluten flour such as buckwheat and rye to make bread and other baked goods.

The common ancestor of all wheat is called einkorn, first cultivated 8,700 years ago in present day Iraq. Because wheat is the world's most important carbohydrate crop and the most widely distributed cereal grain, it is grown in nearly every country.
