Buy Online | Nutrition Facts

Eden Organic Hard Red Winter Wheat is organically grown in mineral rich vital soil on U.S.A. family farms and freshly ground at Eden's certified organic, AIB rated Superior Michigan mill. The world's number one grain and bread flour. A versatile all purpose flour. Use it for breads, pancakes, crackers, pretzels, and anything baked. Mix it with other flours for endless variety.

Hard Red Winter and Hard Red Spring Wheat Triticum vulgare are the same grain planted in different seasons. Winter Wheat is sown in the Fall, it germinates then lies dormant through Winter and starts growing again in the Spring, ready for harvest in the Summer.

Eden Hard Red Winter Wheat Flour is low fat, saturated fat and cholesterol free, sodium free, and a good source of fiber. According to the FDA, "Diets rich in whole grain and other plant foods and low in total fat, saturated fat, and cholesterol may reduce the risk of heart disease and some cancers." Also, "Low fat diets rich in fiber-containing grain products, fruits, and vegetables may reduce the risk of some types of cancer, a disease associated with many factors. It is a good source of protein, thiamin B1, and magnesium. 100% whole grain.

Hard Red Wheat's high gluten content and expanding growing areas have caused it to become the number one grain flour in the world. It is known as 'bread flour' and useful for just about anything you bake. People also keep Hard Red Wheat on hand to mix with lower gluten flour such as buckwheat and rye to make bread and other baked goods.

The common ancestor of all wheat is called einkorn, first cultivated 8,700 years ago in present day Iraq. Because wheat is the world's most important carbohydrate crop and the most widely distributed cereal grain, it is grown in nearly every country.
