Plantains with Caribbean Black Beans and Salsa

Directions
Heat the beans in a medium saucepan over a low flame until the plantains have been pan-fried.
Peel and slice the plantains in half lengthwise. Sprinkle two or three drops of shoyu on the cut side of each of the plantain halves. Heat the oil in a large skillet. Fry the plantain halves on each side until golden brown. Add more oil as needed. Remove and drain on brown paper towels.
Place a serving of beans on each individual plate along with two slices of fried plantain and a serving of salsa.
