Heat a cast iron or heavy stainless steel skillet over a high flame, add the mochi, reduce the flame to low or medium-low and cover the skillet. Let cook for 3 to 4 minutes. Flip the mochi over and cook 3 to 4 minutes or until the mochi puffs up. Remove from the skillet. Eat as is or wrap nori around each piece of mochi. Place the daikon or red radish, shoyu and water in a small dipping bowl and mix. Dip the mochi into the radish dip when eating.
