Eden Foods strategically elects to retain the inspection and certification services of several organizations to best ensure our unique standards of organic, natural, non-GMO, and kosher authenticity, as well as our excellence in food safety and quality, good manufacturing practices, and environmental stewardship. We welcome you to view and download the following certifications: BRC, OCIA, Non-GMO Project, OK Laboratories, AIB International, and C-TPAT. In addition to these oversights and coaching, we participate in government agency inspections carried out by the FDA, USDA, Michigan Department of Agriculture, OSHA, MIOSHA, and many other authorities.
BRC Food Safety Certification
British Retail Consortium (BRC) is a prestigious Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) benchmarked food safety system. It is “true third party” certification. BRC Global Standards are a leading safety and quality certification program for the food and beverage sector with certification issued through a worldwide network of accredited certification bodies. Developed by packaging and product safety experts in 1998, the BRC Global Standard is based on a Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) food safety management plan and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). The BRC Global Standard is divided into seven areas: Senior Management Commitment and Continual Improvement, The Food Safety Plan, Food Safety and Quality Management System, Site Standards, Product Control, Process Control, and Personnel. The BRC Food Safety system guarantees uniformity of quality, safety and operational criteria, and ensures that manufacturers fulfill their legal obligations and provide protection to the consumer. BRC Global Standards are commonly considered a fundamental requirement of food manufacturers for leading retailers in Europe and in North America.
One of the world's most trusted organic certifiers, the Organic Crop Improvement Association (OCIA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing the highest quality organic certification services and committed to environmentally sound stewardship. OCIA has been Eden's primary organic certifier for over two decades.
The Non-GMO Project (The Project) was created by industry members from all of its sectors in the USA and Canada. The Project provides consumers and makers a 3rd party non-GMO verification program through all levels of the supply chain, thus providing verified non-GMO alternatives to the consumer.
As of today Eden enrolled 128 foods that have all been verified as compliant with the Non-GMO Project Standard, 80 foods in the U.S. and 48 in Canada.
Eden has been dedicated to certifying foods Kosher where possible for more than 30 years, and over 97 percent of EDEN foods are kosher certified. Eden chose the Organized Kosher Laboratories of New York, NY and their 'circle k' mark because of their reputation for authenticity and exacting detail dating back to 1935.
Eden has been a member with AIB International since 2001. Serving the food industry since 1919, AIB is committed to the strictest standards of food safety and conducts rigorous independent inspections, audits, and staff training.
U.S. Customs & Border Protection C-TPAT Security Certification
Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) is a joint government-business initiative to build cooperative relationships that strengthen overall supply chain and border security. Through this program Eden participates with the U.S. Customs Service to ensure the integrity of our security practices and to communicate our security guidelines to all of our business partners.
